About Us

South Street is based in the heart of the Braunton community, a vibrant bustling surf village close to the beautiful beaches of North Devon. We would love for you to connect with us.

If you are seeking God but not sure on the best way forward then please feel free to join us at one of our gatherings or via phone/email. Our aim is to introduce people to Jesus Christ and to encourage each other in our daily lives. We have in our congregation a variety of backgrounds, age groups and different type of water craftsman!

The church is led by a team consisting of Seb Latimer, Tim Spelman, Cathy Ogden and Jen Rodliff.

We look forward to meeting with you.

House Groups

Our church is made up of home groups. Each is a small, supportive, worshiping community; being transformed by God’s love, learning how to follow Jesus together, with the intention of bringing transformation to our locality by serving other’s needs, supporting and loving people and sharing life with them.

A time to meet up in small groups, pray with one another and study together. We believe these are a crucial network in our journey in faith, sharing life with one another. Our house groups are weekly informal meetings at houses across Braunton and the wider area in North Devon.

If you are not part of a house group or would like some more information on the different house groups meeting throughout the week, please do enquire. We have house groups that meet in the day time and evenings across different days and we would love to help find the best home group suited to you and get you connected with them.

Values

As a church community, we are a spiritual family where people can belong before they believe and where the young in faith are nurtured and supported.

We hope that as a community and individuals we will:

  • share life with every person in Braunton and enable them to taste and see God’s goodness for themselves.

  • be a worshipping community of living faith, who love and support others, provoking an open-minded inquisitive response and who then invite their friends on a journey of faith.

  • be a community of people who point towards a different future.

  • share about Jesus Christ and the way he is daily at work in our lives.

  • encourage people in their gifts, build them up, nurture them, grow disciples and multiply to have a tangible presence at various emerging areas.

We hope you find South Street Church to be a community where everyone in the family will be encouraged to serve and develop their God given gifts and abilities.

Organisation

South Street is a free and independent church in the Evangelical Tradition.  We are self governing and self supporting.  We belong to the Evangelical Alliance and support the Churches Together Group in Braunton. We are also members of Partnership, a loose national affiliation of Evangelical churches with a background similar to our own.
